My Future Programming Career - What degree to get? [on hold]

My Future Programming Career - What degree to get? [on hold]

I'm currently a senior in high school, and I am overly stressed about
where I should go for college and what I should do for the rest of my
life. I love computers, video games(from Skyrim to Guild Wars 2),
programming, physics, math, etc. I would love to find a solid career
involving any of the above, and I'm confident I can get into most any
university in the U.S. I would absolutely love to program, work, and learn
alongside a tight-knit team of motivated engineers at a major game company
(NCSoft/Arenanet, Bethesda, etc.) -and I realize that my dream is an
extreme one, but what can I say - I'm ambitious! If I were to become a
game developer&programmer at, say, Arenanet, what
milestones/stepping-stones/internships/minor jobs should I aim for along
the way? Should I get a B.S./M.S. in computer science at a top school, or
a state university instead -or get an online degree, or should I go to
Full Sail University and get a B.S. in Game Development in 21 months and
then look for an internship? What activities should I do outside of my
classes/education to develop skills I will need in the field that I can't
get from a degree but from experience alone? Any and all advice is
welcome, as I feel terribly lost and confused trying to plan out my future
:/ It's a daunting prospect
